Chitosan

Chitosan is an aminopolysaccharide biopolymer, or in other words, a fiber that is found naturally in the exoskeleton of crustaceans (shrimp, lobsters, crabs...), in some green algae such as Chlorella, in insects, and in some mushrooms and yeasts.

Chitosan therapeutic use:

  • It has the ability to trap between 5 and 10 times its weight in fat in our intestine, preventing our body from absorbing it, and eliminating it with the feces.
  • It has no effect on the fat stored in our body, nor on carbohydrates (sugars) or proteins.
  • It will help in weight loss diets, as it will reduce the intake of fat into our body.
  • It also helps regulate cholesterol.
  • It also helps control Candida Albicans in our intestine.

Contraindications:

  • This product should not be used by people who are intolerant or allergic to seafood. (a vegetarian variant exists +info 615148535).
  • It should not be consumed by children, pregnant or breastfeeding women.
  • Keep in mind that chitosan does not distinguish between saturated (unhealthy) or unsaturated fats and fat-soluble vitamins (necessary for the proper functioning of our body). Therefore, its prolonged use over time is not recommended.
